Heather began her career as an actress. On route to Europe, after drama school, Heather had a stopover in LA where she ended up staying a year rather than a night. During that year she fell in love with the other side of the camera and returned to Sydney to make a short film. She applied to The American Film Institute (AFI) and on being accepted,  returned to LA staying a further six years.

Following AFI, she worked on several studio commissioned screenplays with her then business partner and did coverage for notable Hollywood producers. She also spent a year working for a respected Australian director/producer team and on the set of “Ally McBeal” learned the many varieties of coffee available at Starbucks.

Heather returned to Australia in the early 2000’s where she began writing and producing short films and documentaries. In 2003 she partnered with Australian director, Priscilla Cameron creating Mosquito Films. Their screenplay “Salt” won the 2007 AWG/Adelaide International Film Festival’s INSITE award. A year later it was invited to the 2008 Berlinale co-production market. During this time, Heather took up a lecturing position teaching producing and screenwriting at Griffith Film School in Brisbane. In 2010 she made tenure and was asked by the French Consulate in Sydney to venture to Paris as an Ambassador for Australian film schools. She never would’ve guessed that a year later she’d be moving to France.  But she did. Via remote learning in 2011, she undertook a Phd examining mother protagonists in contemporary films and TV. In 2012 she won a fellowship to MacDowell (America’s premier artists residency).  In 2017 she began working annually for Series Mania, France’s largest TV Festival.

Over the last few years she’s written for production companies in Germany, the UK, Australia and France. In 2022 Heather joined the Perpetual Entertainment team as scripted development producer for the UK and Europe, she is based in Bordeaux, France.
